https://www.medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews Police say they set off flash-bangs to help end a five-hour standoff on Tuesday night in northeast Crescent Heights before taking a man into custody. Medicine Hat police reported at 5:30 p.m. that during a “check welfare” visit to a home on the 2100 block of 10th Avenue NE, they determined that a “violent episode” at the location, and a suspect remained inside. Reports on Tuesday stated that was the result of an act of domestic violence. They recommended the public avoid the area as the tactical team, K-9 unit and crisis negotiators worked at the scene until about 10:30. At that point a 38-year-old male was taken into custody. Authorities stated more information would be released after an investigation by the service’s criminal investigation section. 7
