The City of Medicine Hat is seeking resident feedback on topics relating to the community with a randomized telephone survey, running from May 5-25.

The survey will be conducted by IPSOS, an international market-research agency. Approximately 400 Hatters will be contacted by IPSOS via landline or cellphone and asked their opinions on a variety of community topics.

“We know our community wants to be consulted and heard, so we’re hopeful residents who receive a call from IPSOS will take the time to participate,” Colleen Graham, the city’s director of corporate communications, said. “This is a key opportunity to share your thoughts in a meaningful way and help the city understand where efforts are well-aligned with community values and expectations, and where improvements should be made.”

The survey is expected to take 15 minutes. Data collected through the survey will be provided to city council for consideration, as well as compared to other municipalities. The survey will be completed again in two years time, allowing the city to track progress.

While numbers are called at random, the city and IPSOS ensure only one call will be placed per household. Anyone who does not receive a call, is invited to complete the survey online http://www.medicinehat.ca.
