The Medicine Hat Moose Monarchs continued their hot start to their season by picking up two wins Monday.

The 18U Monarchs beat the Calgary Blues twice, giving them an 8-1 record to start the campaign.

In the first win, a 7-2 victory, Trevin Ressler picked up the victory on the mound with three innings pitched without allowing a hit or walk and striking out six. Dylan Lefler and Payton Eddy entered the game from the bullpen with a combined seven strikeouts in four total innings of work. Eddy picked up the save.

The Monarchs had 11 hits in the win with Kyle Woolridge leading the way offensively, driving in three runs. Ressler, Evan Morrison and Kobe Ekestrand all had multiple hits in the first victory of the day.

The Monarchs picked up their second win of the day in walk-off fashion, beating Calgary 6-5 on a Woolridge single in the seventh inning. Evan Morrison picked up the win on the mound, being the last arm out of the pen, with a strikeout in his lone inning of work. Woolridge started the game with two innings pitched and five strikeouts.

Ekestrand was the workhorse out of the bullpen, throwing three innings of work, and was followed up by Cade Harrison, who struck out three in his one inning on the mound.

Offensively, Jeff Bullock led the Monarchs in the close win with two hits and an RBI.
