Castle Mountain Resort purchases Ski Lodge

By Lethbridge Herald on March 23, 2022.

Castle Mountain Resort has purchased the Castle Mountain Ski Lodge, the only on-mountain hotel/hostel accommodation at the resort.
The sale was finalized late in 2021 and marks a significant step for Castle’s strategic growth as a top winter destination in the Canadian Rockies. As a result of this acquisition, Castle Mountain Ski Lodge has become the first and only resort-owned accommodation to date.
Operations at the Castle Mountain Ski Lodge will remain largely unchanged for now with longer-term ambitions for upgrades and operational improvements on the horizon.
The resort also hopes to further enhance the guest experience by introducing an integrated booking system for both accommodation and resort activities. The goal will be to streamline processes so that visitors can purchase lift tickets, reserve accommodations, and explore a variety of other packages through a centralized web platform.
“We are excited about what the purchase of the Castle Mountain Ski Lodge means for the future of the resort and the kinds of enhanced opportunities it will allow us to offer our guests,” says Dean Parkinson, director of inside operations and finance at Castle Mountain Resort in a release. “We are consistently seeking ways to elevate our guest experience and look forward to exploring the many new opportunities this acquisition will provide for us to streamline and improve our offerings.”
Castle Mountain Ski Lodge and Hostel also manages bookings for many of the privately-owned homes and condos surrounding the resort. As the new owners of the property, Castle Mountain Resort will continue to facilitate bookings for these independently-owned vacation homes and condos, and endeavour to incorporate them into a single centralized booking platform at some point in the future.
Ongoing improvements to Castle’s on-mountain accommodations will aim to contribute to an increase in overnight stays and create opportunities for travellers to visit from farther away and stay on-resort for more multi-day trips.
