You’ve heard of yoga goats, now get ready for yoga bunnies. Several bunnies from local animal welfare organization Bunny Run Rabbit Rescue will be taking over Medicine Hat’s Yoga You4ia Feb. 27 in an effort to raise awareness of and support for the rescue organization.

“We thought this would be a really good opportunity to allow people to interact with the bunnies in a unique way and get people talking a bit more and asking questions about our rescue,” Amanda Hennessey, president and foster co-ordinator at Bunny Run Rabbit Rescue, told the News. “It just kind of starts a conversation.”

Six bunnies will be present at Sunday’s yoga session to keep participants company.

“We’re going to have a Flemish Giant we brought into our care who was pregnant, so we’re going to have her and her six babies,” said Hennessey, who explained each bunny has a different personality but “they all very much love people.”

Tickets for the event are $25, with $5 used to cover GST and administration fees and the other $20 going directly to Bunny Run Rabbit Rescue.

Hennessey is pleased to see tickets are going fast and thanks Hatters for their support.

“We are thinking it might be something we can try to continue,” she said.
