The Medicine Hat Cubs had their way with the Lomond Lakers Thursday night, beating them 10-3 at the Kinplex. The Cubs outshot the Lakers 24-5 in the first period and 71-14 throughout the entire game. There was no score in the first despite the onslaught of shots, but the Cubs poured it on starting in the second period. Connor Douglas, Everet Stewart, Callen Prosofsky, Jamal Shaw, Levi Schlosser and Ethan Machan all scored in the second for the Cubs to put them ahead 6-1 in the frame. Lomond scored twice in the third but Medicine Hat added four more goals from Connor Miller, Colby Friedrich and two from Schlosser, who finished with a hat trick en route to the Cubs 10-3 win. Layne Gilroy was in net for the victory and turned aside 11 of the 14 shots he faced. The Cubs are in action on the road this weekend, as they travel to Kainai Nation to take on the Junior Braves Saturday, then head to Strathmore to face the Wheatland Kings Sunday. Their next home action comes next Thursday against the Coaldale Copperheads for a 8:15 p.m. contest. 9
