She married Lyle and was the proud mother of five children – Rick, Doug, Shelley, Brian, Karen. A hard worker, Joyce gave love to so many. She loved her gardens, beautiful flowers, and baking. Always plenty of food and room for one more, Joyce made everyone feel a part of the family. Joyce enjoyed living in different communities, including Aneroid, Gull Lake, Moose Jaw and Prince Albert. In 1997 Joyce returned to Saltcoats with Lyle, enjoying 13 years with her mother, family, and friends. Due to failing health Joyce moved into a care home, continuing to receive love and support from family and friends. Bingo, walks, visits, and companionship of sister-in-law Lynn were the highlights of her days. Joyce is lovingly remembered by her husband Lyle, children Doug (Karen; children Kit, Katie and Mitch), Shelley (Joe; children Amanda and Carrie Anne), Brian (Kate) and Karen (Colin; children Finn and Lilly), and 5 great grandchildren. Remember by Christina Rossetti
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann’d:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
At Peace now with Dad and Mom.
Remembered Always.
