https://www.medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews A new town council in Havre, Mont. has been acclaimed, including a new mayor. All races in the town of 13,000 located south of Cypress County featured lone candidates on election day, held across the United States on the first Tuesday in November. New Havre Mayor Doug Kaercher replaces outgoing mayor Tim Solomon, who held the position since 2010 but decided last spring not to seek re-election. He supported the candidacy of Kaercher, who was most recently the town’s finance director and was previously a town councillor and commissioner for surrounding Hill County up to 2007. Four aldermen were also acclaimed, with new candidates Kimberly Bolta and Heather Parker joining incumbents Andrew Brekke and Sarah McKinney. Janie Hedstrom retained her position as city judge. 7
