A Glenwood man charged last week following a police raid in the city remains in custody while he waits for Legal Aid to retain a lawyer for him.
Criminal charges against Bradley Stephen Paskiuski, were in Lethbridge provincial court Monday, where Lethbridge lawyer Tracy Hembroff noted she represents the accused on unrelated offences, and is waiting for her client to receive Legal Aid coverage for his latest charges.
Police searched a home in the 600 block of Aberdeen Crescent West on Friday and seized about $85,000 worth of drugs, including 661 grams of methamphetamine, 245.7 grams of fentanyl, 17.3 grams of crack cocaine, 35 hydromorphone pills and 37 morphine pills.
Members of the priority crimes unit also recovered nearly $12,000 cash (proceeds of crime), a shotgun, a loaded Glock magazine and a Glock imitation airsoft handgun.
Paskiuski, 36, faces 18 charges, including five counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of failure to comply with release orders, seven weapons-related offences, and possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.
The accused, who was in quarantine at the Lethbridge Correctional Centre during Monday’s hearing, returns to court Thursday, ostensibly for a bail hearing.
