Trustee candidate looks to step up for separate school system

Bart Denie, a father of two girls in grade 3 and grade 5 at St. Michael’s School in Pincher Creek, is hoping to gain a seat at the Holy Spirit School Division board.
“I think that we need to step up as parents and fight for the separate school system in order to be able to continue it for the years to come… we need to take an active approach in order to try and continue this education that we are blessed to have for future generations,” said Denie.
Denie believes that the people in charge of the curriculum need to go back to the table and consult with educators on the front lines.
“I feel that it definitely needs to be revisited and put on hold for now. There are just too many factors in there that are going to reflect negatively on the schooling that our children are going to be receiving,” added Denie.
If elected Denie would like secure funding for future generations and further the school and the school division, to be able to provide children with the best education possible.
He would also like to be able to garner as many resources as possible for children to be able to learn in a safe environment.
