1955 – ALLAN KRASSMAN – 2021

Allan Blake Krassman was born on September 26, 1955 in Medicine Hat, Alberta to Victor and Mary Krassman. Allan has two siblings, one brother Mark Krassman, and his sister Victoria Krassman (Jerry Shaw). As an adolescent Al was very talented in a wide array of fields. He was an accordion player growing up, and in addition to traditional accordion songs such as Roll Out the Barrel, Al could also rock out tunes like smoke on the water, any and all Led Zeppelin songs, as well as all the hits from his favorite band Three Dog Night. Al was very athletic and excelled at sports. It was noted that Al was the only kid in the neighborhood who could throw a rock across the south Saskatchewan river. Others would note that if you wanted to see a show of speed, you could catch Al darting across the streets of Riverside narrowly beating cars racing down the street. It was said that Al never lost a foot race, earning him the nickname Flash. As Al transitioned into adulthood, he worked a variety of laborer jobs. Whether it was masonry work, construction, or in the beef processing plant, Al never minded rolling up his sleeves. He was known for his incredible strength and on several occasions moved grand pianos up several fights of stairs by himself. Many people remember Al from the YMCA. He became an avid weight trainer/ body builder. Al also had an insatiable love for his dog Timber. In his later years, you could always find Al at the downtown Tim Hortons. He would always greet everyone with a smile/ friendly demeanor, and could amaze you with his unbelievable knowledge of statistics. Whether you knew him as Al, Flash, or Big Al, people always had a fond story to share about him. Allan, may you always have the running shoes you want on your feet, a dry path in front of you, and a smile for everyone you meet. May you always have the wind to your back and run in heaven forever. Keep looking down on us as we go through life's endeavors and when we see a flash run across the sky, we will know in our hearts that you are forever near by. There remains no restrictions as to the size of gatherings, therefore everyone is invited to the funeral service that will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, Pat Grisonich. Masks are mandatory. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. To e-mail an expression of sympathy, please direct it to: office@pattisonfuneralhome.com subject heading: Allan Krassman, or you may visit http://www.pattisonfuneralhome.com and leave a message of condolence.

KENNETH (KEN) DEAN CHAMPION

1972 ~ 2021
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of a beloved son, brother, uncle and husband. On September 9, 2021, after a valiant struggle, Ken peacefully left this world and left the suffering behind. Ken was a person of great positivity and everything in his life was met with his brilliant smile regardless of the adversity. Ken was living his second chance at life after receiving a bone marrow transplant from his blood sister Karen Haines whom he had only met about 25 years ago and formed an unbreakable bond. Ken was born in Portage La Prairie in 1972 and adopted by his parents Judy and Bruce Champion and shared his life with his new brother Jason that was born in 1973. After several moves across provinces Ken settled with his family in Medicine Hat in 1993, met his soul mate Carollee Gaub in 1996 and married in 2008. Ken’s work life was mainly in restaurant kitchens and anyone that has eaten in a restaurant in Medicine Hat over the last 30 years is likely to have had food prepared or cooked by Ken, he knew his way around a kitchen. Ken’s failing health over the last few years kept him home bound but he connected with people all over the world through his love of online gaming, he will be missed by hundreds who knew him as “Borys”. Left to treasure Ken’s memory is wife, Carollee (nee Gaub); his adoptive parents, Judy Champion (Brian Pattison), Bruce Champion (Shelley); brother, Jason Champion (Jody Henderson) and nephews, Evan Ross, Sebastian and Xander Champion; sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Steve Paris and special aunts and uncles, Roy and Marie Champion, Margaret and Merlin Loewen, and Barbara and Jim Nichols.
