The Maverick Party’s Electoral District Association for Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner will be hosting a meet-and-greet town hall next Tuesday at the Kin Coulee Park bandshell at 6 p.m. While the local riding has yet to announce a candidate, the new federal party is aimed at addressing issues facing Western Canada, and local EDA president Darlene Collings says she’s seen it gain some traction in southeast Alberta. “When conversation turns to discussion about the Maverick Party, its platform and mandate, it really gets people excited that there is another option, a better option for their views to be responsibly and reliably represented in Parliament,” Collings says in a party release. “We hope to be able to announce a candidate that can do this for us very shortly.” Anyone seeking more information about the party or event can email MHCWmaverickeda@gmail.com. 5
