amccuaig@medicinehatnews.com The man accused of assaulting two family members who run a neighbouring gas station in Walsh last year is expected to resolve his matters in two weeks, avoiding a trial scheduled for next month. Anwar Kamaran, owner of Save On Gas, was charged in August with two counts of assault causing bodily harm in connection with the incident involving his competitors at Trailside Tempo across the street. He was under conditions not to attend the Tempo at the time of that incident in connection with an assault allegation a day prior. That initial assault allegation was withdrawn. Kamaran was subsequently released on conditions which he allegedly breached in March and has been in custody since. The court heard Tuesday Kamaran’s matters are now set for summary disposition. However, the Crown did not agree to drop the trial date set for July 12 just yet. Kamaran has been represented by three different defence lawyers previous to his current counsel. 9
