1930 ~ ROBERT “BOB” HEEG ~ 2021
Robert Harold “Bob” Heeg beloved husband of the late Mildred Heeg, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 years. He will be missed by his children, Shelley (Hans) Gerber, Nyla Heeg, Daryl (Darlene) Heeg and Robbie (Gerald) Sehn; grandchildren, Andrea, Sabrina, Patrick, Dominik, and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Liam, Mara, Lionel, Celine, and Adriana; brother-in-law, Harvey (Marilyn) Roth; sisters-in-law, Dianne (Ken) Connery, Marion Roth and Pat Heeg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Mildred Heeg; parents, Gottfried and Mary Heeg; brothers, Ed Herb and Albert, brothers-in-law, Larry Roth and Arnal Keating; and sisters-in-law, Blanche Keating, Ida Heeg and Dorothy Heeg. Bob was born April 8th, 1930 near Empress, AB to loving parents, Gottfried and Mary Heeg. He grew up on the family farm with three older brothers and that is where he began his farming career. Bob married Mildred Roth in 1955 and they raised their family in Burstall while still being able to enjoy farm life. Bob excelled in many sports; baseball, curling, bowling, as well as enjoying a good day of fishing or relaxing playing his guitar. Bob moved to Medicine Hat in 2014 to be closer to his daughter Robbie and medical care. The residents at South Country Village always knew when Bob was coming because they could hear him whistling and they gave him the nickname “Whistling Bob”. A small graveside service will be held at Burstall Evangelical Cemetery on Friday, May 14th, 2021. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, attendance will be by invitation only. 1937 ~ RICHARD “DICK” DAVIES ~ 2021
The family of Dick Davies is sad to announce his passing on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the age of 84 years, after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma cancer. Dick was born in Redcliff, AB on February 27, 1937 where he was surrounded by his aunts, uncles and cousins. Dick is survived by his wife of 62 years, Garda Davies. He will be missed by his children, Donna (Humphrey) van Eerde, Glenn (Julie) Davies, Cheryl (Doug) Bader and Carol (Gordon) Charlebois; grandchildren, David and Kevin van Eerde, Max Davies, Justin (Ashley) Bader, Curtis (Shelly) Bader, Michael Charlebois; step-grandsons, Paul (Jenn) Charlebois and David (Carrie) Charlebois; sister, Gloria Keats; brother-in-law, Jim (Bernie) Tennant, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dick was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Ivy (Podesta) Davies; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alec and Donna Tennant. Dick spent many hours, months and years walking the course of MHGCC while trying to perfect his golf game. Along the way he formed many great friends, made lots of memories and had a ton of fun. He was able to keep the friends but never quite perfected his game. He thanks those who shared that journey. Dick was a lifelong Toronto Maple Leafs fan and was happy to see this year’s team at the top of the standings. The family would like to express their thanks to the doctors, nurses and the staff for their compassionate care during Dick’s stay at St. Joseph Carmel Hospice. Dick called them his angels, which they were. In addition the family thanks the doctors and staff of the Margery Yuill Cancer Center and the Tom Baker Cancer Center. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private Funeral Service will be held at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Friday, May 14th, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Dr. David Carter officiating. 1946 – DONNA WILSON – 2021
It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Donna Marie (Johnson) Wilson on Friday, May 7, 2021. Donna leaves to mourn her beloved husband and best friend for 40 years, Oscar Wilson; her son, Vincent Thane (Esther); grandchildren, Olivia and Mattias Thane; her siblings, Patricia (Barry) Maxwell, Laura (Eric) Curwen, Catherine (Randy) Schnell, Gordon Johnson and Barbara (Clayton) Davison; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Donna was predeceased by her parents, Vernon and Adele Johnson and Vincent’s father, Ian Thane. Donna was an amazing cook and baker with a keen eye to detail and presentation. She had many artistic abilities, pottery, painting, calligraphy, embroidery, leatherwork, beading and a love of making jewellery be it wrapped gems, loom beaded bracelets and many different beautiful earrings. Donna was a genealogist and proud to be a Métis. She loved to share family stories and discover new connections to her family tree. Donna also taught beading, embroidery and loom beading at the Miywasin Friendship Centre where every Friday she made a delicious cake or some other wonderful dessert for the elders lunch. Donna will be forever loved and remembered for her kindness, beautiful smile and light filled eyes. As her daughter-in-law said,
“Donna is now Dancing with
her Ancestors.”

FORREST CHERET
1953 – 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Forrest Cornell Guy Cheret announce his passing on Thursday, May 6th, 2021 at the age of 67.
Forrest will be lovingly remembered by his three sons, Chris (Sara), Guy (Chelsey) and Paul; his grandchildren, Devyn, Aiden, Allye and Connor; his mother, Leona; brothers, Armand (Sharon) and Dollard; sister, Zo (Bill); step-brother, Thomas (Gladys) and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Paul; step-brother, Larry and step-sister, Pauline.
Forrest definitely had the gift of gab and a love of the Montreal Canadiens. Everyone that knew Forrest appreciated his quick wit and sense of humour.
The family would like to thank the staff at Haven View for the wonderful care he received. By request and due to covid restrictions, there will be no formal service at this time. A celebration of Forrest’s life will be announced at a later date.
