One of several men charged following a violent attack at a westside residence last year was unable to make a court appearance Friday.
Lethbridge lawyer Ingrid Hess explained her client, Hunter Ferdinand Nolte, was scheduled for a docket appearance in Lethbridge provincial court, but he was unable to attend because he broke his hip and was in the hospital.
Hess said Nolte is expected to be released from the hospital next week, and his court matter was adjourned to May 14. Hess said she needs the lengthy adjournment because she is new to the file and hasn’t yet met with her client to discuss the case.
Nolte, 34, was charged with aggravated assault and disguised with intent after he and four other men were arrested several weeks after an assault at the westside home.
Police were called to an early-morning disturbance Sept. 25 at a trailer park in the 2700 block of Westside Drive West. Police found a 40-year-old man suffering from serious, life-threatening injuries. The investigation revealed the incident was targeted, and the victim and suspects were known to each other.Nolan Shade, 24, Lucas Lycar, 30, Cory Amyotte, 33, and Jesse Davidson, 26, were also charged.
