1928 ~ BETTE FRISCH ~ 2021

It is with great sadness the family of Bette Frisch announce her passing on March 16th, 2021. She is remembered fondly by her daughter, Darlene (Paul) Foster, her sons, Lorne (Nahn) Frisch and Darcy Frisch, her grandson Todd (Krista) Glock, her granddaughters Marcelle Glock and Monica Frisch, her great-grandchildren, Aleasha, Amanda (Jeff), Taylor and Jesse Glock, Austin Frisch, Emily and Khloe Ewert, and great-great-granddaughters, Devin Casamayor and Emma Gorko, sisters Peggy (Tony) Westerhoud and Donna (Loren) Cluff, brother Eldon (Marie) Mehrer and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Herb Frisch, her son Timothy Frisch, her parents John and Lydia Mehrer, and her sisters Ella Watson and Cecilia DeHeer. Betty (Bette) Agnes Mehrer was born December 25th, 1928 at Hilda, Alberta, the oldest of six children. She attended school at Echodale, Chelsea and Hilda and was a good student. She married the love of her life, Herb Frisch on October 2, 1947. They were married for 59 years until his passing in 2007. Family was everything for Bette as she devoted her life to looking after everyone. She was an excellent cook, baker, seamstress and gardener. Everyone loved her kuchen and perogies. Although her traditional German food was delicious, she was not afraid to try new dishes. Her Christmas dinners are legendary. She worked hard on the farm, milking cows, feeding pigs and chickens, making her own butter and bread and tending a large vegetable garden. Her strong faith sustained her throughout her life. She was an active member of the United Church of Canada at Irvine and Westminster United in Medicine Hat. She taught Sunday school, was a CGIT leader and belonged to the UCW for many years. A sweet and kind woman who will be missed by many. May she fly with the angels. The family would like to thank the staff at ValleyView AgeCare for their kindness and compassion in looking after Bette in her final years. A private family graveside service will take place at Hillside Cemetery on Saturday, March 20, 2021.
