Man facing charges after knife incident
By LETHBRIDGE HERALD on January 9, 2021.
A 32-year-old man has been charged with weapons and other offences after an incident downtown Thursday night.
About 9:30 p.m., police responded to reports of a male who had smashed a window above The Lethbridge Herald pressroom. There were subsequent reports the man had threatened the driver of a vehicle with a knife.
Lethbridge police say they found a highly-agitated man standing in the centre median of 6 Avenue South at 6 Street holding a knife in each hand. Police convinced him to drop the knives after a few minutes and he was taken into custody without further incident.
Brad Badura, of no fixed address, has been charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public; assault with a weapon; mischief; possession of a controlled substance; and three counts of failing to comply with conditions of a release order.
He is being held in custody while awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
