City council’s annual organizational meeting on Monday resulted in few changes from the previous list of councillor appointments to committees and boards.

Among two changes were the placement of Coun. Julie Friesen and Coun. Kris Samraj moving on to a newly formed Intermunicipal Collaboration Committee. The two previously sat on the steering committee with elected officials from Redcliff and Cypress County that worked out the recently passed collaboration agreement.

It will meet an minimum quarterly to discuss projects of common interest.

Last week Cypress County council selected its members at Coun. Richard Oster and Coun. Robin Kurpjuweit.

The Redcliff contingent on the six-person committee is Mayor Dwight Kilpatrick and town councillor Shawna Gale.

The only other change in city appointments involved Samraj replacing Coun. Jim Turner on the Subdivision Appeals Board.

Appointment have been generally untouched since the council term began in late 2017. The current assignments will take council through to the next municipal election set for October 2021.
