RCMP officers bust up drug trafficking operation in Siksika

By Medicine Hat News on November 5, 2020.

Mounties in Gleichen say they have broken up a “dial a dope” operation with the arrest of two people.

RCMP state that an investigation of an overdose in that town brought them to a residence on Eighth Avenue with a search warrant.

They seized “large amounts” of Oxycontin and other prescription pills along with several ounces of hashish and illegal cannabis.

Larry St. Thomas, 64, and Molly Littlechild, 41, are both charged with multiple counts of drug trafficking. They are set to appear in Siksika Provincial Court on Dec. 10.

Hijack attempt on Highway 41

RCMP in Alberta are looking for a late-model Crown Victoria they say is made to look like a police car after its occupants attempted to pull over a semi-truck near Consort.

On Nov. 2, the truck driver reported that he pulled over on Highway 41 after the car came up behind him with roof lights on. The driver and an other occupant were not dressed in police uniforms and demanded money, but fled when confronted.

The older white Crown Vic, with black rims and a No. 10 on the roof, left in the direction on Consort.

They are described as white, in their early 20s, between five-foot-eight and six-feet tall, wearing black sweaters and blue jeans.

RCMP state they have no white cars of that model in service, and anyone who is uncertain about an ongoing police stop should contact 9-1-1.
