Suspect receives minor injuries from police K9

Authorities say that a man who broke into a church was injured by a police dog in Medicine Hat early Wednesday morning.

“Minor injuries” were sustained as they took a 41-year-old into custody shortly after police responded to an security alarm at the Evangelical Free Church, located on Palliser Way in the northeast community of Parkview.

That took place at about 3:20 a.m. on Oct. 28. The man was in custody during the day Wednesday awaiting a bail hearing. He faces a charge of breaking and entering, as well as an unrelated mischief charge from an incident on Tuesday.
