What is more scary than the idea of a monster under your bed? How about no presents under the Christmas tree? For some in the community, this is a reality.

The Medicine Hat News Santa Claus Fund Society is launching the, “Christmas Shouldn’t Have to be Scary” 50/50 draw.

“We had such a great success with our last 50/50, we thought we would reach out to the community and get them involved in another way to help support our kids at Christmas,” say Deanna Doerksen, executive director of the MHNSC. “This season we know the demand is going to be high and we want to ensure that no child in our city goes without the magic of Christmas, the thrill of presents under the tree and their bellies full from a holiday meal.”

This time around, a minimum of $2,000 is up for grabs and a maximum of $5,000.

Tickets went on sale Friday and the draw wraps up Nov. 1 at 11: 59 p.m.
