A Medicine Hat man facing child pornography and bestiality charges has pled guilty to a number of offences.
Cody Herrell pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography, distributing/selling child pornography, bestiality, sexual assault, sexual contact with a minor and making child pornography.
Herrell was originally charged in 2019, with additional charges coming earlier this year after further investigation by police.
The timeline for Herrell’s charges varies, but as a whole range from Oct. 24, 2014, to Sept. 26, 2019.
“The date ranges coincide with the evidence seized from the devices, so if there was some type of data contained within an image that gave me a time of when the image was created, then that would lend itself to the date of the offence,” ALERT Staff Sgt. Kirt Murray explained in February. “If there were multiple images, or multiple pieces of evidence, then the date range would be the start date and end date of the evidence that coincides with the charge.”
Herrell will appear in court on Nov. 25 in Medicine Hat.
