Police break up stolen goods ring

Authorities say they have broken up a stolen goods ring after searching a Medicine Hat home last week.

Five law enforcement agencies in southeast Alberta collaborated in the investigation of rural break-ins that resulted in the arrest of two Medicine Hat men and warrants issued for two others.

ALERT crime unit investigators says they seized $20,000 worth of stolen tools, bicycles, a stolen van and cargo trailer when they searched a Medicine Hat home Sept. 24.

Arrested and charged were Dallas MacDougall, 49, and Christopher Penney, 45, of Medicine Hat. Arrest warrants for vehicle theft have been issued for Shane Poole, 31, and Nicole Poole, 25, both said to be from Lethbridge.

The investigation included the Medicine Hat Police Service, Taber Municipal PoliceService, and RCMP detachments in Bow Island and Taber.
