GLEN LUST

1940 ~ 2020

Surrounded by love, Glen Lust died in Medicine Hat on Friday, August 21, 2020, at the age of 80 years. His memory will be cherished by his soul mate, Shirley Vossler; son, Kim (Shelly) Lust; daughter, Gail (Marty) Eastman and grandson, Tyrone Lust. His greatest disappointment was not being able to spend time with his great-grandson, Ryder. Glen will also be missed by his sister, Betty (Syd) Leoppky, the Memory Makers as well as the rest of his music family. He was predeceased by his grandson, Kirby Lust and parents, Alfred and Edith (Ida) Lust. Glen was born in 1940 and spent his childhood on a farm near Irvine. As a young boy he started playing the accordion, which became a life long passion. Glen married the mother of his children (Bonita Webber) in 1962. Initially they lived in Medicine Hat and after deciding to make farming their goal, moved to a farm near Irvine before settling near Seven Persons. Glen worked for the City of Medicine Hat as a transit driver and the gas department before returning to farming full time in 1976. He worked hard at farming, helping his kids with 4-H calves as well as just being there when needed for those around him. He retired from farming and moved into Seven Persons in 1991. In 1993, he met his soul mate, Shirley. At Shirley’s encouragement, Glen started playing accordion again. His retirement years were spent playing music. Whether it was at home practicing for hours, playing jams, senior homes or dances, his goal was to create music for people to enjoy and dance. The band in the sky just got better. We will miss you. Join the family for a come and go music jam celebration of his life at the Moose in Medicine Hat on Sunday, August 30, 2020, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Please respect all COVID-19 practices.
