The Canadian Foodgrains Bank harvested for the 21st consecutive year Wednesday, bringing in thousands for the organization.

A group gathered just off of S. Boundary Road on Wednesday morning, while two combines worked away at the wheat field.

Money raised from the harvest will go toward the Foodgrains Bank goal of eradicating hunger around the world.

The total bushels of wheat harvested Wednesday was 2,375. Those can be sold for around $6 a bushel. The total amount raised will be more than $14,000.

“That’s a good day,” said local representative Charles Redpath. “We want to get rid of hunger around the world.

“This money will do a lot of good.”
