AHS reinstating parking fees at Alberta hospitals

After providing free parking at hospitals during the pandemic, Alberta Health Services has announced that parking fees will once more be imposed. Parking fees will be reinstated for employees on Aug. 31 and for the public on Sept. 1. AHS says in a press release that parking fees help to ensure there is parking available for staff and visitors. AHS parking services has already enhanced cleaning and will continue to regularly clean all parking payment machines. Signs encouraging social distancing will be in place in areas where considered appropriate. AHS also encourages the use of its parking app, which can be downloaded for free to any iPhone or android device. Parking fees will be the same as they were before and cash will still be accepted at AHS parking meters and parking offices. 7-6
