A man has drowned while swimming in the Bow River on Sunday night near Carseland. The Strathmore RCMP detachment reported early Monday that fire crews from Wheatland county and other search and rescue agencies were looking for the man who jumped in the water near Highway 24 at Wydham Carseland Provincial Park. He swam downstream at about 9:25 p.m. but did not return. The search was halted due to darkness on Sunday night, but resumed on Monday morning. An afternoon release states that a body found during the search has been positively identified as that of the missing man. No other information was released. Search for woman An elderly woman who apparently spent two days in farmers field near Hussar, was found alive on Monday afternoon, the RCMP detachment in Bassano reported. Mounties asked for public’s help in locating the woman, 74, who suffers from dementia and other medial conditions, on Sunday. She was last seen on Saturday night near her rural home, and was found about three kilometres away on Monday. 9
