Jim passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital with his family by his side on July 4th, 2020 at the age of 89 years. The Funeral Mass was celebrated yesterday at HOLY FAMILY PARISH with Fr. 1930 ~ SHIRLEY KRIWOKON ~ 2020

Shirley Anne Kriwokon of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of Walter Kriwokon, passed away on Monday, July 6th, 2020 at the age of 90 years. Shirley leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 69 years, Walter; sons, Randall Kriwokon and Bradley Kriwokon; daughter, Cheryl Gebhardt; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Wilda Price; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Benjamin and Opal Schmidt; brother, Arnold “Bud” Schmidt; sister, Norma Dewald; and granddaughter, Valerie. Shirley was born on April 23rd, 1930 in Bracken, SK. Shirley met the love of her life, Walter, and they were married on July 6th, 1951. Shirley lived her life with grace and a big heart, demonstrating love and acceptance for all. She was an avid bowler and baker. She loved her church and her family and was one of the kindest and friendliest women one could ever hope to meet. Shirley will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions a private funeral service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Friday, July 10th, 2020 at 3:00 pm with Reverend Dr. Nancy Cocks officiating. Interment will follow at SAAMIS PRAIRIE VIEW CEMETERY. The service will be live streamed through the Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel’s website at http://www.saamis.com. 1958 ~ Lorna Bérubé ~ 2020

Lorna Doreen Bérubé passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5th, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Home in Medicine Hat, after a very long battle with cancer at the age of 62 years. Lorna is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years of marriage André Bérubé; son, Paul Bérubé and daughter, Rachelle Bérubé both of Medicine Hat; one granddaughter, Eden Bérubé who was the love of her life; sister and best friend, Sharon Brunt of Mossbank , SK; a brother; and her mother, Irene Wuschke of Mossbank, SK, and father, Paul Wuschke (pre- deceased). She also leaves behind special friend, Pat Hicks of Mossbank SK, whom she communicated with daily and Marie Bailey of Winnipeg, MB. Growing up, Lorna was active in figure skating, curling and many sports activities. Lorna served in the Canadian Armed Forces as an Administration Clerk and received an accelerated promotion twice to the rank of Corporal and Master Corporal. She was also in the Class C reserve for many years as her children grew. Lorna loved music and shared her gift as an organist, pianist, guitarist, choir director and a singer to many churches and special events throughout her military career and civilian life. Lorna loved travelling the world, especially cruising across the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. She enjoyed RVing, collecting rocks and was an avid reader. Lorna was always Andre’s ear and memory. We will all miss her smile and kind generous heart! The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Friday, July 10th, 2020 with Pastor Jim Bredeson officiating. Interment will follow at SAAMIS PRAIRIE VIEW CEMETERY. In lieu of flowers, please consider planting a tree dedicated in her memory.
