1935 ~ DOREEN BEIERBACH ~ 2020 The family of Mrs. Doreen Beierbach, beloved wife of the late Herb Beierbach Jr., passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on February 12th, 2020. Mom leaves to cherish her memory four children, Barry Beierbach of Strathmore, AB, Rodney (Cecilia) Beierbach, Roxanne (Dave) Marr, and Rainy Deis (Kevin Peterson), all of Medicine Hat, AB; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sister, Pearl (Alex) Palama of Hawaii; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Herb; eldest son, Wayne; parents, Emil and Viola Darr; in-laws, Herb Sr. and Marie Beierbach; stepmother, Elsie Beierbach; and sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Jack Hellman. Mom was born in Fox Valley, SK on January 27th, 1935. She was raised north of Hilda on her family’s farm. On July 25th, 1953, she married Herb and together they continued to farm/ranch the homestead until they retired in 1977 and moved to Medicine Hat. Mom then went to work at Kresge’s for several years and then Joyline until she finally RETIRED. She loved her garden and her flowers, and a year never went by when she did not plant a vegetable garden. She was always giving away the vegetables that she grew to others. Mom had a green thumb! She had the most beautiful flower gardens. No weed could get by her! Mom really loved the visits from her grandchildren and in later years, her great-grandchildren. She always made sure there were plenty of sweets and Hawkins Cheezies for them. Over the past several years, Mom started to pamper herself by having her nails done by one of her granddaughters. She would look forward to the “next” ones, always full of smiles about the colours and designs that were done. Mom was also the VERY BEST cook! She always made everyone’s favourite dishes when they visited. She would ask “what would you like?”, and then had it made when we arrived with plenty of leftovers to take home along with desserts and other sweets. We are going to really miss “THE COOK”!! In her honour, we will have a come & go garden party to celebrate Mom’s life on Saturday, June 13th, 2020 at 765 Taylor Road SE, Medicine Hat. from 1:00p.m. – 4:00p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and reminisce amongst family, friends, and flowers. 1954 ~ JANICE MUHLBEIER ~ 2020 Janice Yvette Muhlbeier of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of Leslie “Les” Muhlbeier, passed away on Wednesday, June 10th, 2020 at the age of 65 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Les; her children, Lisa (Mark) Simmons, Kevin Leismeister, Brett (Terri-Lynne) Leismeister; step-children, Corey Muhlbeier, Leslie (Catherine) Muhlbeier, Dalton (Amanda) Muhlbeier, and Shawna-Lyn Woodgate; grandchildren, Bailey, Kassidy, Zach, Bence, Nathan, Taylor, Bella, Brady, Payton, Adyson, Knox, Dru Charlene, and Wilde; mother, Daisy Lane; and brother, Doug (Peggy) Lane. She was predeceased by her father, John Lane. Janice worked for Power Serv for over 30 years before she retired in June of 2019. She was an active member of AA and helped many people while making many amazing friends throughout the years. She was an enthusiastic Medicine Hat Tiger’s fan and enjoyed attending their games whenever she could. Janice continued to be very active after her retirement and enjoyed going for walks and many mornings swimming at Crestwood pool. She was proud of her family and she loved spending time with all of her children and grandchildren. She was especially fond of watching all the activities and sports that her grandchildren were involved in. She had a great sense of humour and an infectious laugh that could always brighten up your day. Janice will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Monday, June 15th, 2020 from 6:00 to 6:55 pm. Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, on Monday June 15th, 2020 at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 1451 Strachan Road SE, on Tuesday, June 16th, 2020, at 1:00 pm with Father Iqbal Khurshid, Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Section at Hillside Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 restrictions – all services are limited to no more than 100 attendees including family and funeral home staff. 1960 ~ DEBRA HARRISON ~ 2020 Debra Lynn Harrison passed away early Monday morning, June 8, 2020, in her home at the Riverview Care Center, Medicine Hat, at the age of 59 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Ashley (Brandon), Lisa (Cornelius), and Tanya (Willy); her husband, Dave; her mother, Joyce; brother, Keith (Jody); sisters, Shelley (Doug) and Leanne (Trevor); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Debra was predeceased by her father, George Robert Wittig and her grandparents. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, attendance at the funeral service will be at invitation of the family. RENA McVEIGH 1955 ~ 2020 Rena Patricia McVeigh (nee Maltais), beloved wife of Barry, passed away in Medicine Hat on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at the age of 64 years. Along with Barry, Rena’s memory will live on in the hearts of her sons, James (Lauren), Peter (Kate) and Gerald (Vanessa); mother, Shirley Maltais; sister and nephew, Dallas and Raymond O’Neill; brother, Pat; nephew, Felix; nieces, Alex and Quin (Darren); aunt, Audrey Lines and her children, Garry (Jill), Marcy (Brian), Arleen (Dave), Mary Ellen (Ron), Todd (Barb); Barry’s family in England as well as many very good friends and of course her dog, Sam. Rena was born on July 19, 1955, in Swift Current, SK. She loved being a nurse and took pride in the profession. After retiring about four years ago, she kept busy at the Leisure Centre, walking the dog and enjoyed being outside working in the yard at her house and at their cabin in BC. Rena loved being in any nature setting especially in summer, but also in winter. Cancer changed that but also gave her an opportunity to give and feel love over the last few months. She loved hugs… she gave and received lots of those. There is a bench along the river at Police Point Park that has been placed there in Rena’s memory. It is for you to use to sit and relax in a nature setting. Thank you to everyone that came to the house and shared laughter; it meant a-lot to all of the family as well as Rena.
