Nutrition classes for parents are being offered by Alberta Health Services in an online format and they are free of charge. In the prenatal nutrition class, expectant parents will learn about nutrients that are important, food safety concerns during pregnancy, what defines a healthy weight gain, and managing symptoms such as nausea and heartburn. The infant feeding class looks at signs that indicate when baby is ready to start eating solid foods and explores topics such as nutrients, food allergies, baby-led weaning and preparing food for baby. The mealtime struggles class offers strategies for dealing with picky eaters and helping children develop healthy-eating behaviours.
