1951 ~ HENRY FOURNIER ~ 2020

Henry unexpectedly passed away due to a work related accident on Monday May 11th, 2020 at the age of 68. He will be terribly missed by his wife, Petra Fournier; son, Shane (Terri) Fournier and their children Jordyn and Brooklyn; son, Dustin (Christine) Fournier; daughter, Nicole Moss and her son Dainen Johnston who shared a bond like no other. His sister, Evelyn (Allen) Mcquid; and brother, Gilbert Fournier. He was an active member of the community with the Moose Lodge, Legion and UCT. Henry loved to do meat draws, play cards, play pool and a bit of golf when he was not painting lines. Henry worked for Modern Industrial Rentals for 35 years until he retired. His real passion was Fournier’s Line Painting and he took such pride in his parking lots and straight lines. Anybody who met Henry or who had worked with him never looked at parking lots the same way. He enjoyed his time with the grandchildren and was very proud of all three grandchildren and his family. A man of few words but a wonderful listener and that made you feel loved and cared for. Henry was such an animal lover so in lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Medicine Hat SPCA, 55 Southview Drive SW, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 8E8. A celebration of life will be held at a later date once we can all gather together. Condolences may be sent through http://www.saamis.com or to condolences@saamis.com subject heading Henry Fournier. 1993 ~ NICOLAS "NICK" HILL ~ 2020

It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son and brother, Nick. He is no longer sad and confused; he was imprisoned in a “powerful darkness.” He is flying with the angels now. Nick was pre-deceased by his grandfather, Neil Campbell and grandparents, Leonard and Helen Hill. Nick is survived by his most loyal and closest companion golden retriever, Bailey; his mother and father, Sandra and Doug; brother, Morgan (Steph); sister, Kirsten (Paul); grandma and grandpa, Elaine and Ken Hanson; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. We find strength in knowing that he is at peace and reconnected with his grandparents in Heaven. Nick was a caring soul and he touched the lives of many people. He had a smile that would light up a room and a determination like no one else. He enjoyed inline hockey, ice hockey, snow boarding and golfing. Nick had a deep passion for all animals, space and galaxy and photography. He was a loyal friend, a noble brother, a loving grandson, and a kind nephew and cousin. Nick had an admiration and a curiosity of his ancestry and the ancient world. He had a passion for reading and a passion for learning. He had an open, spiritual mind-set and was never afraid to try new things. He genuinely cared about others and was wise beyond his years. His infectious personality, his little laugh (he was all smiles), will be missed along with his unique way of making you think about life. We will miss him forever and always. Rest in P-E-A-C-E our beautiful boy. A celebration of Nick’s life will be held at a later date. In honour of Nick’s memory, donations can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 204 – 1865 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 1Z8. Condolences may be sent through http://www.saamis.com or to condolences@saamis.com subject heading Nicolas Hill.

ETHEL RIES

Major Murray Jaster shared an uplifting rendition of Amazing Grace drawing tears from all those attending Ethel’s graveside this past Monday. Her beautiful memory will live on through her family and friends.

So when we saw you sleeping,
So peaceful, free from pain,
We could not wish you back,
To suffer that again.

Her Life Lived…
Her Life Cherished…
Her Life Honoured.

ROSE PUDWELL

1930 – 2020

With heavy hearts, the family of Mrs. Rose Pudwell, beloved wife of Mr. James Frederick Pudwell, announce her passing at Masterpiece Southlands in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, on their 69th wedding anniversary. They were married in Calgary, AB., on May 12, 1951. Rose was born and raised on the farm near Fox Valley, SK., and was a devoted mother and homemaker to their seven children. Rose took pride in her home and was very meticulous and neat, so much so you probably could eat off her kitchen floor. As she would always say, “Don’t do a half ass job!” Rose loved to read, especially Danielle Steel novels. She also enjoyed camping having built a cabin on Lake Newell with long time friends Frank and Rose Lanz. Rose and Jim belonged to many clubs and enjoyed dancing every chance they got. They loved to travel whether it was trips Jim won to Paris, Hawaii and a Caribbean cruise or going to Mexico in their motorhome. Rose’s greatest achievements were raising and loving her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The last few years Rose spent at Masterpiece Southlands. There, she created a second family with all of the staff whom she held dearly in her heart. Rose’s memory will be lovingly treasured in the hearts of her family: husband, James; children, Alexis (Don) Anderson, Adrienne (Randy) Fischer, Prudence (Ken) Chambers, Orr (Donna) Pudwell, Clyde (Mata) Pudwell, Gaye (Garth) Russill and Deye (Len) Dirk; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kyle, Stuart, Alissa, James, Joel, Jenny, Alex, Abby, Nicole, Kelli, Braydon, January, Jeffrey, Kristyn, Tara and Clint; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Eva Ehrman, Betty Noack, Harry Immel, Marg Eslinger, Marlene Sadlemyer as well as good and longtime friends, Frank and Rose Lanz. Rose was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Katherine Immel; brother-in-law, Don Ehrman and son-in-law, Kelly Benson. A private family celebration of Rose’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, with grandson, Kyle Jacober officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Rose’s name may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 119 – 14 Street N.W., Calgary, AB., T2N 1Z6 or to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 6007 – 1A Street S.W., Calgary, AB., T2H 0G5.
