STEWART BELL

October 08, 1950 – May 1, 2020
Stewart Bell passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family at the age of 69. Left to treasure his memory are his wife, Jenny and two children, Russell (Kayla Kaluzny) of Calgary and Karyn (Jack) Clegg of Medicine Hat and two grandchildren, Jackson and Addison Clegg. He is also survived by his sister Kay (Hans) Bossert of Calgary, sister-in-law Sandra Bell of Lethbridge and numerous nieces and nephews. Stewart lived most of his life in Brooks, retiring to Medicine Hat five years ago. He was proud to have worked for the same company for 38 years. He had a life-long love of sports. For many years he played on basketball, hockey and slo-pitch teams. Stewart was an ardent supporter of his children in all of their endeavours. He spent many hours coaching, volunteering and watching them play sports, especially basketball. He enjoyed the simple things a beer with friends, a "stewie" burger, working in his garden or going for a drive. He found new interests in retirement, spending most of the last five summers fly-fishing in the Crowsnest Pass, often with his son Russell. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren who will really miss their "Pappo". Stewart achieved his dream of hiking the Inca Trail at the age of 65. He touched numerous lives over the years and will be missed by many. Donations can be made to the Prostate Cancer Center of Calgary or by donating blood in Stewart's memory. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
