Mounties of Grande Prairie have named a person of interest in a homicide in that city this week and the assault of two Medicine Hat residents who were found badly injured in a Whitecourt hotel room earlier in April. The RCMP have issued an arrest warrant for Telford Randall Howe, also known as ‘Gremlin’ of ‘G’ in relation to the death of a 32-year-old man in Grande Prairie on April 25. That person, who police haven’t named, was found seriously injured in a home and died later in hospital. RCMP had called for the public to come forward with more information or tips, and said on Tuesday they would like to question Howe about the incident. Previously, they had charged Howe with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, wearing a disguise and possessing a dangerous weapon. Those stem from an April 16 incident in which RCMP said two people – a 39-year-old woman and 46-year-old man, both described as “from Medicine Hat” – were discovered with serious but non-life-threatening injuries in a hotel room in Whitecourt. Howe is last believed to be in the Grande Prairie region. Howe is described as armed and dangerous, standing 5-foot-3, weighing 134-pounds and with numerous visible tattoos, including a crucifix on his left cheek. He should not be approached. Anyone with information should contact the Alberta RCMP or local police by dealing 9-1-1. 8
