The Alberta government has asked that all gatherings of 50 people or more be suspended until further notice in an effort to slow the potential spread of COVID-19. This recommendation affects numerous events in Medicine Hat area, including smaller events which organizers are employing extra caution for. – Western Hockey League: All games suspended until further notice, including at the Canalta Centre in Medicine Hat. Upcoming games included – Canalta Centre: All WHL games until further notice. Friday’s Brad Paisley concert, postponed, details on potential rescheduling to follow, Roseanne Barr (May 1), Baby Shark Live! (June 23), Cirque du Soleil AXEL has been cancelled. – Esplanade: All events cancelled. – Medicine Hat College: Journey Towards Healing and Reconciliation Conference (March 23-27) and regional science fair (March 21) have been postponed indefinitely – All Raising the Curtain events have been postponed. – The Something for Everyone Market slated for April 25 is cancelled. – The Paddling Club’s annual film festival at the library is cancelled. It was slated to be held tonight. – The Family Leisure Centre is closed. – All cadet activities have been postponed or cancelled. – All public library events are cancelled. – Girl Guides will be selling cookies later this year. All Girl Guides events are postponed. – Fairytale Ball at the Medicine Hat Lodge is postponed. – The Blissful Bride Expo is postponed. – The Medicine Hat Curling Club has suspended all curling activity for the rest of the season. – Ken Sauer School Council’s 2nd Annual Spaghetti Supper & Raffle Fundraiser on March 19th is postponed. – The annual Cabane A Sucre was slated to run March 21 at Crescent Heights High School. The event has been cancelled, with full refunds being offered on tickets. – The Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede has closed its facilities until further notice. – The CCDA’s annual Easter Egg Hunt is cancelled. – The Medicine Hat Public Library is closed indefinitely, but e-Resources are still available. – Redcliff Legion Friday Night Dances and Monday Morning Coffee have been cancelled. – Brooks Social Club has cancelled its April dance. 24
