The Medicine Hat Police Service has arrested one man after a high-risk incident that took place within the city Sunday. Police got a call from a partner law enforcement group letting them know a woman was being taken against her will in a black Chevy Cruz with Saskatchewan licence plates. Police locally attempted to stop the vehicle, but couldn’t get them to pull over. After a number of tries and consistent pursuit from the MHPS, support units and other police agencies, a 34-year-old man from Regina was eventually arrested and taken into custody. The man is facing charges including flight from police, dangerous driving, disqualified driving, domestic violence and breach of probation. The MHPS also reported that the woman in the vehicle is fine and did not suffer any injuries. Police sent out a thank you note to residents of Medicine Hat and the surrounding area for sending in tips on the vehicle’s location on Sunday during the incident. 8
