Ultimate Cheer Fusion's team performs in Regina Saturday.

It was a memorable Saturday for many local cheerleading teams, but the Ultimate Cheer Fusion’s Flash group might have topped them all.

The 15-member team won its Junior 2 division at the Best of the West Cheer and Dance Championships in Regina.

The no-deduction performance beat out six other teams for top spot according to a press release from UCF.

All four UCF teams managed to avoid deductions. The Junior 1 team wound up third in a four-team division, while the Blast team was sixth out of eight in Youth 1.

Finally, the Tiny prep team won a first-place banner for their efforts.

Meanwhile in Stony Plain, the Stingerz club had a trio of teams entered in a new competition called the Rise Up Cheer Challenge.

The Killer Beez won a first-place banner, while the Queen Beez and Ivy Beez finished with second-place results in their respective divisions, thanks in part to no-deduction routines.
