Canalta Centre officials brought January to a close with a pair of big announcements on Friday. Medicine Hat’s own MacKenzie Porter was announced as the opening Brad Paisley’s show on March 13. It’s a busy time for Porter. The music video for “These Days” was released on Friday, and her next single, “Seeing Other People,” will be out on Feb. 7. Porter closed 2019 as the first female artist to have back-to-back Canadian country radio No. 1 singles in more than two decades “About You” and “These Days.” Said Porter in a release, “I am so excited I get to go on the road with Brad! I’ve been a big fan of him for a long time and getting to open for an idol in your home country and home city is a dream come true!” Clint Black, here July 11, has had a career of more than 30 years on the strength of hits like, “A Better Man” and “Like the Rain.” He has 22 No. 1 singles in total and has sold more than 20 million records. Tickets for Black’s show go on sale Tuesday at ticketmaster.ca, or in person at the Canalta Centre box office. Tickets for Paisley’s show have been on sale since December and are nearly sold out. 8
