The annual Tongue on the Post Music Festival came to a close Saturday with day full of performances at Medalta.
The event ran for the 14th consecutive year and saw a lot of success, says executive director Rob Pape.
“It’s been a phenomenal week,” he said. “We’ve had such great attendance – the music has been amazing.
“Our Supper and Song night at the Heartwood Cafe was special – the music was top-notch and the food was amazing.”
Pape mentioned the Kiln shows and the Singer/Songwriter Night as two other standouts from the week.
“Just so much fun,” he said. “People always turn out support us.”
Saturday night was the annual headlining Gala at Medalta. It featured Derek Hintz, DRFTR and Maria Dunn.
“People are in for a treat,” said Pape.
After 14 years, Pape says it’s full steam ahead for the festival.
“We’re going to keep getting bigger and better,” he said. “Next year is 15 and we’re really digging in our heels to put on something extra special for people.”
Despite technical issues on the TOP Fest website, Pape says he does his best to get the word out.
“Newspaper, TV stations, radio interviews – there’s always a way.”
Pape added a thank you to all of the volunteers and staff who work to make the event possible every year.
“When you look around and see everyone smiling – it makes it worth it,” he said. “We have the best staff and our volunteers really make this happen every year.”
