Provincial regulators have approved a licence to open a retail cannabis outlet in Taber, the first in the town of 8,400 located between Medicine Hat and Lethbridge. “Harvest Bud Supply” appears with a Taber address on the latest list of licensed retailers posted by the Alberta Gaming Liquor and Cannabis Commission. The same list shows licences for Lethbridge have grown to 21, while Medicine Hat’s number remains at 12. The total number of licenses across Alberta now exceeds 400. AGLC officials told Alberta Newspapers in November that two applications for Taber were on file. That town’s planning commission at the same time said it had approved two locations for such development and was considering a third. Harvest Bud Supply would operate at 5014 46th Ave. in the town, which is a commercial strip that faces Highway 3. The business is believed to be connected to Lethbridge Bud Supply, an independent chain based in that city. It has announced plans to expand in the southwest Alberta region. There is one retail licence granted for Redcliff, to a local interest, and three in Brooks operated by various retailers. 9
