The MHSA is hosting a bottle drive Saturday outside of Swirls. Drop off is from noon until 2 p.m.
The Medicine Hat Skateboard Association will be spending this weekend giving back to the community.
The group is holding a bottle drive Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. in support of the upcoming The Hat Rocks Cancer concert. The show is being held by local band, The Straight Jackets, in support of guitar player Corey Beierbach, who has terminal brain cancer.
The group of skaters will be set up at Swirls during the day in hopes of raising as much as possible for the cause. Anyone with extra bottles is asked to bring them to the ice cream shop.
“This is something we felt was important to do,” said MHSA volunteer Terence Kowalchuk.
The MHSA will be matching the bottle proceeds up to $500 to donate to the concert.
