Earlier this week Ralph Browne’s family was surprised when his choir, the Selah Singers, sang for him outside of the family home.

Roughly 75 members of the choir sang for Browne, who has been battling cancer for the majority of this year.

Browne’s family says he is beyond thankful for the night of songs.

“Our family was deeply touched by the Selah Singers choir carolling on Tuesday evening.” the family said in an email to the News. “As we looked out and saw many familiar faces, from very young to mature, our hearts were warmed.

“Ralph’s lifelong passion has been music. It has been his joy to work with individuals and groups helping others to find their individual and collective voices lift in praise to God. The final carol sung by the choir encouraged Ralph to Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

“We are grateful for the kindness and support Selah Singers have provided us in a most challenging time.”
