A teenager from the Siksika Nation is dead following a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday morning south of Strathmore that also sent three passengers to hospital. Mounties from the Strathmore detachment say they arrived at the scene near Namaka at 5:16 a.m. to find a 17-year-old male from Siksika Nation dead on the scene after a vehicle left a range road and rolled several times in the ditch. Three other occupants were sent to hospital in Calgary and are in stable condition. The cause and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation. Drug bust Three adults and a youth are in custody as Mounties say they found a stolen truck, drugs and suspicious cash following a complaint of mischief near Highway 547 on Monday morning, Officers from Gleichen responded to the call at about noon and after an investigation seized a stolen Dodge pickup truck, methamphetamine, fentanyl, heroine, cocaine and about $6,000 in cash. “The danger posed by the presence of these or any type of drugs in our community cannot be overstated.,” Gleichen RCMP detachment commander Staff Sgt. Tim Kelly said in a statement. “We will continue efforts to reduce the harm of drugs in our community by disrupting drug trafficking.” Charges were laid against two adults who are residents of the Siksika Nation. Paul McMaster, 34, is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, five counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. He is set to appear in Provincial Court in Gleichen on Thursday. Jerry Yellowoldwoman, 42, is set to appear on Dec. 12, on similar charges, as is Braden Jackson, 18, of Calgary. The youth, said to be 16 but cannot be identified, will appear in Provincial Court on Jan. 23. Wind sites robbed Coronation RCMP is investigating multiple break-ins at a wind turbine site in the County of Paintearth. The break and enters occurred during the early morning of Nov. 24 and Nov. 30. Two people are believed to be involved and they drive a white truck. More charges in ATM spree RCMP have lid more charges against a man accused in a string of ATM thefts along Highway 9 on Nov. 24. The Hanna RCMP detachment says that Rick Ernest Atzler, 26, is now charged with theft over $5,000, break and enter and commit theft and arson relating to a smash-and-grab robbery in Oyen when a truck was used as a battering ram to extricate a cash machine from a business. From incidents in Coronation and Provost are four charges of mischief under $5,000, flight from police, possession of a prohibited firearm, and 14 counts of dangerous driving. RCMP also say the investigation led to the identification of the female believed to be part of a break-in at Hanna. Authorities say that Ashlyn Brett Tomolty, 33, was approached in Consort with another man, but the pair fled and a foot chase ensued. Tomolty is charged with resisting arrest, possessing stolen property and drugs for the purpose of trafficking. She is set to appear at Provincial Court in Coronation on Dec. 13. Darwyn Ronald Beaudry, 37,is also charged with flight from police, assaulting a police officer, assault with a weapon and dangerous driving. He remains in custody. 22
