The Southern Alberta Express came one shot short of winning their first-ever game in Medicine Hat following a 4-3 overtime loss to the Calgary Fire on Saturday afternoon at the Moose Recreation Centre.
Kendal Pierson led the Vauxhall-based Express with a goal and two assists, while Madison King had one of each and Megan Draffin added a goal.
Ashley Shypitka, Carys Ursell and Skye Mathew all scored in regulation for Calgary, then Erika Wenzel scored the overtime game-winner.
Kalynah Fong Martin collected the 21-save victory for the Fire, while Express netminder Devyn Amundson settled for the loss on 23 saves.
