A trio of Medicine Hat boxers were in Milk River Saturday where a pair of provincial champions went toe-to-toe.
Janick Lacroix, the Alberta youth division champ, took on Taber’s Brent Anderson, the reigning senior champ in the same 75 kilogram weight class.
According to coach Kerry Fahlman, Lacroix not only won by unanimous decision, he gave Anderson two standing eight counts in what was labelled a “very tough fight” given the age disparity.
Also winning was the Gas City’s Tristan Deveau, in a senior 75 kg bout over Calgary’s Steve Meikle. Francis Ang of the Medicine Hat Boxing Club lost a novice 60 kg match to Calgarian Justin Belardine.
