Caregiver workshop hosted at Chinook Village will help map out responsibilities

By Medicine Hat News on November 20, 2019.

The role of a caregiver can be both exhausting and rewarding, and there is a caregiver workshop taking place in Medicine Hat on Nov. 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with breakfast at 8:30 a.m.

The Caregiver Bubble: The Inner and Outer World of Family Caregiving will take place at Chinook Village. Tickets are $20 and include a light breakfast and lunch. To register call Lorna at 403-548-8437 or email Lorna@LornamScott.com

The workshop will include a “care mapping” tool to assist families in identifying all the people involved with caregiving and any gaps in service. It is designed to help caregivers determine their workload and responsibilities, how they feel about them and create a plan to feel supported.

There will also be a session on SELF (Soul Energy, Love, Fun) to help participants reconnect with who they are, what they love and what they want.
