Moscow Ballet’s Kissy Doll Tea Party at mall next week cancelled

Excitement is growing for the upcoming performance of Moscow Ballet’s “Great Russian Nutcracker.”

It may reach a fever pitch next weekend.

Moscow Ballet, the Canalta Centre and the Medicine Hat Mall have partnered for The Kissy Doll Tea Party featuring Moscow Ballet ballerina Mariia Yevdokymova on Sept. 12 at the mall’s food court entrance.

Tickets are $10 on a first come, first serve basis and available at the mall’s guest services desk.

According to the Facebook event tickets include a Christmas cookie, lemonade, Kid Tea and a personal photo with a ballerina. Sittings will happen at 4:30 and 5:30 p.m., with limited seating available.

Two days later, on Sept. 14, local ballet students are invited to audition to dance at the “Great Russian Nutcracker” show later this year.

Youth ages six to 18 can audition for roles including party children, small mice, Russian snow maidens and more.

Auditions will take place at Medicine Hat School of Performing Arts at 9:30 a.m. The auditions, which are free, will be led by Yevdokymova.

“Great Russian Nutcracker” will be performed at the Canalta Centre on Nov. 14.
