Rough round for Hodgins at nationals

By Medicine Hat News on August 15, 2019.

With one round to go in the Canadian junior golf championships, Medicine Hat’s Ryan Hodgins isn’t in position to place, so he gets to enjoy one last round in New Brunswick with the pressure off.

Hodgins shot a 3-over 75 Wednesday at Covered Bridge Golf and Country Club, now tied for 60th place through 54 holes. A day after posting four birdies, he only managed one in the third round – though it was on a hole he double-bogeyed on Tuesday.

Quebec’s Christopher Vandette continues to lead at 13-under thanks to his opening-round 62, but the lead is down to two shots as B.C.’s Jeevan Sihota shot a 4-under 68 to get to within striking distance.

Seventy-seven players made the cut including Hodgins, who was disappointed not to make the cut last year on his home course.
