Burger-eating competition will raise money for HALO

By Medicine Hat News on August 14, 2019.

Sirens Bar and Grill is hosting a burger-eating competition to raise money for HALO on Aug. 24.

The first person to finish a two-pound hamburger and roughly a pound of fries in the allotted hour wins a $75 Sirens gift certificate.

“The four-patty monster is not for the faint of heart,”cautions the event description on Facebook. “Don’t worry, you will have a 60 oz jug of a non-blood thinner beverage (no alcohol) to wash it all down.”

The event needs at least five participants to proceed and a maximum of 10 can compete. Entry fee is $50.

The contest has six rules:

– No leaving the table;

– You cannot have assistance;

– All food, including the fries, must be consumed;

– No bathroom breaks;

– No alcohol during the competition;

– Vomiting earns a disqualification.

Spectators are also able to contribute to the cause.

A dollar from each signature two-ounce HALO drink or local craft beer sampler will go toward HALO.
