Hodgins handily makes the cut

By Medicine Hat News on August 14, 2019.

Ryan Hodgins more up the leaderboard at the Canadian Junior Boys Championship golf tournament in New Brunswick Tuesday.

The Medicine Hat player fired his second-straight even-par 72 at Covered Bridge Golf and Country Club, now tied for 40th place and safely under the cut line.

Hodgins had a wild front nine, with four birdies, a bogey and a double bogey. The 36-hole cut was 4-over.

Returning champion Christopher Vandette followed up his 10-under first round with a more pedestrian 3-under Tuesday, but still leads Sylvan Lake, Alta. Product Carter Graf by four strokes.

Vandette also led Quebec to a win in the inter-provincial team event, upending defending champion Alberta.
