Cypress County has declared a state of emergency after two wildfires started to burn on Saturday.

According to the Alberta Emergency Alert website, one wildfire is burning south of Highway 1 and the other is located near the hamlet of Walsh.

Cypress County fire and emergency services are on scene — but visibility is reduced due to high wind velocity and smoke.

Everyone is being asked to avoid the area until further instruction is given.
